Arousal & Reactivity

8 Private Sessions

Program focus

This program supports dogs who experience heightened arousal, reactivity, or difficulty disengaging in stimulating environments.

It is a good fit for dogs who:

  • display leash reactivity or frustration-based behaviors

  • need structured exposure and handler support

This program builds on regulation skills while addressing arousal and reactivity through carefully managed setups and progression.

Session structure & use of time

Sessions are structured to support the dog’s learning capacity and emotional regulation on a given day.

While sessions are scheduled in one-hour blocks, the amount of active training time may vary based on the dog’s arousal level, threshold, and the type of work we are focusing on.

Depending on the session, active training time may range from approximately 15 to 60 minutes.

Shorter sessions are often intentional and reflect best practices in behavior work, where learning is most effective when the dog remains under threshold and able to process information.

Any unused time from a session is banked and carried forward within the program. This allows us to work flexibly, prioritize quality over duration, and adjust session length as needed without loss of value to the client.

What to Expect

Progress may vary from session to session as arousal and thresholds fluctuate. This program emphasizes safety, regulation, and skill-building rather than forcing exposure or suppressing behavior.
