Focused Coaching
Targeted training support for specific goals.
Focused Coaching is designed for dogs and handlers working on a clearly defined training goal that doesn't require the structure or progression of a full training program.
Sessions can be spaced out to allow time for practice between appointments, with coaching focused on the skills and questions most relevant to your goal.
Focused Coaching may be a good fit for:Recall or loose-leash walking
Engagement and everyday life skills
Toy play
Refining or expanding an existing skill
A specific training goal that can be addressed without a broader behavior plan
A Training Program may be a better fit when:Multiple behavior concerns need to be addressed together
Reactivity, aggression, or significant fear is part of the training picture
The dog and handler would benefit from a progressive training plan
More frequent coaching, structured exposure, or ongoing adjustment is needed
How It Works:Choose a 2- or 4-session coaching package
Sessions can be scheduled as 60-minute appointments or divided into 30-minute appointments
Training takes place at the Mellow Hound training field or selected public locations within Sequim
The 2-session package is valid for 4 months
The 4-session package is valid for 6 months
Focused Coaching is intended for limited-scope training goals. If your dog’s needs expand or would benefit from a more structured progression, I may recommend moving into a training program.
