Program Schedule

The Homegrown Hound Program runs on a consistent weekly schedule to support structure and reliable progress for your dog.

Training Days:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
Each training session is 30–120 minutes, depending on your dog’s needs and or training that day.
Appointments are scheduled between 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM

These training days will remain consistent throughout the 6-week program to help your dog develop a predictable routine.

Skills Transfer Sessions:
These are brief hands-on coaching sessions where I show you what your dog is learning and how to support it at home.
Skills Transfer Sessions typically take place on Thursdays, but we can schedule them on a different day if needed.

Session length may vary depending on your dog’s needs and progress. Some sessions may be shorter or longer (ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours), and this variation is built into the program structure. What matters most is making sure your dog is learning at the pace that sets them up for long-term success.

Progress Expectations & Important Notes

Every dog is different — and that’s cool!

Some dogs may need extra time to build comfort and trust with me before formal training can begin, especially if they are fearful, reactive, or sensitive by temperament. If that’s the case, I will always prioritize your dog’s emotional wellbeing.

If additional acclimation time is needed, it will be provided at no additional charge, depending on the severity of the behavior.
➔ This is why the initial consultation is so important: it allows me to assess your dog’s needs and adjust the program plan as necessary.

Please be prepared for the possibility that slight modifications to the training schedule or goals may be recommended based on your dog’s individual needs.

Owner participation is key!
Between training sessions, it’s essential to maintain a consistent routine of exercise, enrichment, play, and structured downtime for your dog. Your commitment to the homework tasks provided will play a major role in your dog’s overall success.

Thank you for partnering with me to create the best possible experience for your dog!

Typical Training Milestones – Your Journey May Vary!

  • Build a relationship/trust and engagement

  • Assess environment and lifestyle

  • Introduce early management strategies and skill shaping

Weeks 2–3: Building Reliable Basics

  • Tailor work to your dog’s unique motivators and comfort

Weeks 4–5: Real World Practice

  • Increase difficulty at your dog’s pace

  • Strengthen focus and confidence in more dynamic spaces

Week 6: Reinforcement and Refinement
